The waterborne paddy rice trade volume from Northeast China, one of the most important grain producing areas in the nation, saw great growth in the first half of this year due to the freight subsidy policy issued by the central government.

Beiliang port attached great importance to paddy rice handling. Detailed operation plan was worked out on the basis of thorough economic analysis and cost calculation. Stable and solid cooperative ties have also been established with shipping company, railway administration, shipper and consignee etc to guarantee the high efficiency of transportation.

A total of 109,000 tons of paddy rice was handled in Beiliang port during the first 2 quarters, accounting for a market share of 56.4% among seaports in NE China. In addition, the average wastage incurred during transportation was restricted within 0.3%.
