The railway container block train service shuttling between Changchun, capital of Jilin Province, and Beiliang port was put into operation May 6.

The container train, running at a frequency of twice a week, could carry 60 40-foot containers each time. It is expected a total of 200,000 tons of freight can be handled by this service.

Representatives from Jilin provincial government, Shenyang Railway Bureau, China Railway Container Transport Corp. Ltd (CRCT), Changchun Dacheng Group and Beiliang company attended the launching ceremony.
